Admissions campaign 2020: SibFU's popularity with international applicants rises

242 international citizens have become students of the Siberian Federal University and that shows a significant increase compared to last year. 173 of them entered the undergraduate programmes with 69 — masters and postgraduate studies. About 1000 students from around the world study at the university in total.

This year, the majority of the applicants came from the CIS countries: 92 from Kazakhstan, 65 from Kyrgyzstan, and 42 from Tajikistan. Education in Krasnoyarsk remains in demand among candidates from the People’s Republic of China as well — 31 students enrolled this year. Among others were citizens of Iraq, Uganda, and Turkmenistan.

The list of educational programmes popular with foreign students this year has also widened. For example, students from China preferred linguistics, economics, management, and trade. Many Iraqi students enrolled in the Oilfield Development Management major in the Oil and Gas Business. While a large number of youths from Kazakhstan chose the Graduate School of Restaurant Management. For graduate students, the most popular programmes in English were Biological Engineering and Banking.
