HSE St Petersburg Offers Foreign Nationals Asian Studies Programme

New English medium MA programme kicks off on 1 October 2018.

Higher School of Economics St Petersburg is launching a new English-taught master’s programme in Business and Politics in Modern Asia for international prospective students. The programme aims to train specialists in politics and economics of Middle East countries (Iran, Israel, Turkey, Arab states) and East Asia (Japan, China and North and South Korea). Students study politics and the socio-economic situation in these regions, methods of negotiations as well as history, culture and languages. Graduates get a master’s degree in Asian studies.

To enrol in the programme, candidates have to succeed at a portfolio contest and an interview. Portfolio contest document requirements: cover letter, references (at least two) and a scan of bachelor’s degree with the transcript and English proficiency certificate (if available). The package of documents can be emailed after registration on the HSE website. The candidate takes a Skype interview in English. Tuition fee is 250,000 rubles ($4,170) a year. Successful entrants can expect up to 50 percent tuition fee discounts.
