International students learnt modern art restoration methods.

Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” held the international summer school Heritage Science for the first time. It gathered trainees from China, Mexico, Argentina, France, Algeria, Syria and Afghanistan. The two-week short programme covered engineering methods of research, conservation and restoration of architectural monuments, museum exhibits and artefacts, and modern physical, chemical, laser and optoelectronic techniques in Cultural Heritage preservation. The students also heard lectures on art history. Workshops were led by LETI Photonics Department teachers, St Petersburg museum specialists and Prof. Gabriel Ferrini, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan.
