Students from 11 countries have completed a short summer course.

The Lobachevsky University international Russian language summer school welcomed students from China, Taiwan, Singapore, Belgium, Romania, Mexico, Serbia, Lebanon, Iraq, Thailand and South Korea. The foreign nationals lived in Nizhny Novgorod for three weeks. They took an intensive Russian course, learnt about Russian history and culture and received language proficiency certificates at the end of studies. The participants enjoyed an eventful cultural programme. They had walking tours of Nizhny Novgorod, took cable car rides over the river Volga and saw top localities such as the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, the Ariel Factory of Christmas Tree Decoration and the Museum of Wooden Architecture in Schelokovsky Hamlet. They also visited the cities of Kazan and town of Kozmodemyansk during a two-day steamboat cruise. University volunteers provided assistance to the foreigners throughout the entire course showing them places of interest in the city and introducing to Russian traditions.

Russian universities offer short summer and winter programmes in various disciplines, from software engineering to archaeology.
