More Than 1,000 Foreign Nationals Admitted to FEFU

The university released Admissions 2018 results.

Overall 1,094 prospective students from 51 countries enrolled at Far Eastern Federal University in 2018. Most of them are residents of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Asian countries such as China, South Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam. Residents of Costa Rica, Madagascar, Gambia, Panama, Paraguay, Rwanda, El Salvador, the Comoros, Poland and Georgia were admitted to the university for the first time this year. FEFU currently provides training to more than 3,500 foreign nationals from 74 countries, up seven from last year. Economics and management, international relations, general medicine and oil and gasfield development were the most popular fields of study with foreign nationals in 2018.

To attract international students, Far Eastern Federal University takes part in international education fairs in China, India, Uzbekistan and other countries, and invites foreign nationals to Olympiads and summer schools. According to Victoria Panova, FEFU Vice President for International Relations, many international schoolchildren, after taking a short programme, choose to continue their education at FEFU. It offers prospective students a broad range of engineering fields, natural sciences and humanities. More than 500 undergraduate and some 200 graduate programmes are available; some of them are taught in English.
