The pandemic introduced some changes to the admission rules.

People’s Friendship University of Russia pushed the application deadline to 30 October 2020 for prospective international students seeking to enrol in full-time/mixed mode undergraduate, specialist or master’s programmes and to 30 November in distance education. Self-funded students apply for PhD programme till 30 October (full-time mode) and till 1 December (distance learning).

Required documents
  • copy of the certificate of education or qualifications;

  • scan of passport or other ID showing citizenship information;

  • consent to personal data processing;

  • copy of medical clearance for studying in Russia with negative HIV test result;

  • copy of other documents (for example international Olympiads or professional contests award certificates);

  • photos.

Documents can be uploaded at the RUDN University website or emailed to the Foreign Student Recruitment and Support Department. The original documents have to be presented during the first year of study. Classes are due to begin on 1 September 2020. If borders remain closed by around that date, students will start receiving instruction online.

RUDN University is launching Digital Preparatory Faculty: even before coming to Moscow, foreign nationals can begin to study the Russian language and field-specific disciplines for enrolment in degree programmes. The Digital Preparatory Department welcomes in the first place citizens of Georgia, Zambia, Jordan, China, Lebanon, Namibia, Syria, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ecuador.

Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia opened its doors to students in 1960; initially it provided training to international students. More than 9,000 foreign nationals study at RUDN at present.
