Some 1,000 Foreigners Send Applications to TSU

The university has opened intake for the academic year 2020/21 offering online application and entrance tests.

National Research Tomsk State University applications opened on 20 June 2020. Prospective students take entrance tests from home using the Zoom platform and the Moodle learning management system. Foreign nationals number some 1,000 of all applicants. Commonwealth of Independent States accounted for 830 prospective students; other origin countries included China, Vietnam India, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Zambia, Nigeria, Colombia, Ecuador, Japan, USA, Italy and Spain. Applicants are mostly interested in IT fields, physics, mathematics, management, international relations and linguistics. They can choose their major depending on entrance tests results to be released after 18 August.

The TSU Admissions Board has noted an increase in the number of applicants this year compared with 2019. The university admitted students from 70 countries for the academic year 2019/20; it currently provides training to some 3,000 foreign nationals.
