The winners applying for masters studies have an advantage.

National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University will hold the Olympiad “Proryv” (Breakthrough) for prospective international masters students. Russian-speaking senior undergraduate students and holders of bachelor’s and specialist degree residing in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are welcome. Online tryouts will run till 12 March, 2019. Participants are required to register at the Olympiad website, present their portfolio (listing the scientific achievements to score points for each), choose the desired field of master’s studies and start solving Olympiad problems. The results will be published by 18 March. The top scorers are invited to the finals to be held in Russian and CIS towns in March-April; choose a convenient venue on the Olympiad website. The winners will be named not later than 10 May.

The Olympiad winners applying for masters programmes are entitled to 100 points in the examination in the profession-oriented subject. In 2019, TPU offers prospective international masters students 33 tracks such as informatics and computer science, instrument engineering, nuclear physics and technology, oil and gasfield development, geology, management, design etc. See the complete list on the TPU website.
