International students took a course in Russian foreign policy.

This year, Lobachevsky University’s summer school “Russia Goes Global: International Relations Trends & Challenges” gathered students from Italy, Great Britain, Denmark, Croatia, India, the United States and Peru. The short programme included lectures in English on Russian diplomacy, Russia’s relations with foreign states, soft power and international security. Teachers paid special attention to Russian history and culture, language policy, internationalisation, export of Russian education services and related topics. The students visited the consulate of Malta in Nizhny Novgorod to learn about the operation of foreign missions and Russian-Maltese relations, and the Department of External Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod government for an overview of the region’s key international cooperation guidelines. They also had an interesting cultural programme. The foreign nationals visited the ancient Russian town of Gorodets, a Christmas toy factory and learnt some toy painting techniques.

UNN is a Russian university providing fundamental engineering and humanities education. More than 370 programmes are available to international applicants. See the list of programmes here.
