Ural Federal University Olympiad for Schoolchildren: Applications Open

Application deadline is 28 February 2018.

Izumrud (Emerald) Olympiad covers seven fields: computer science, maths, physics, chemistry, history, social science and Russian language. 8th-11th grade schoolchildren from Russia and CIS can take part in the competition. The elimination round will be held onsite and remotely from 6 November 2017 till 28 February 2018.  Participants are given an hour to answer the questions online. Those who have successfully coped with the tasks qualify for the Olympiad finals to be held onsite in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia from 1 March until 31 March 2018. Olympiad language is Russian. The link to registration, the schedule, the venues and the list of required documents are available on UrFU website.

Winners and awardees in Social Science and Russian Language are eligible for non-competitive enrolment at UrFU in majors if they score at least 75 points in the Unified State Examanation in these subjects. The participants who show good results in other fields are entitled to three extra points to the Unified State Exam score.
