LETI Intake 2019 Results

The university admitted students from 79 countries.

Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI” admitted 850 international students; of those 485 enrolled for undergraduate studies, 235 for masters studies, 11 for specialist studies and 17 for PhD studies. One hundred and two applicants enrolled at the Preparatory Department for foreign nationals to be able to continue their studies in Russian in the future.

Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Algeria, Vietnam and Yemen are traditional origin countries. Some students came from Belgium, Australia, the United States, South Korea, Spain, Italy, Germany and France. This year, LETI reported a larger number of students from African countries (the continent is represented by Zambia, Nigeria, Congo, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Tanzania). Nationals from Norway, Croatia, Nepal, Eritrea and Senegal came to study at LETI for the first time.

The most popular fields of study are Information Technology and Computers, Software Engineering, Control in Technical Systems, Infocommunication Technology and Communication Systems which is natural for the digital technology era. IT professions will continue to top the highest paid job list in the years to come.

English medium masters programmes Computer Science and Knowledge Discovery and Automation and Mechatronics have been increasingly popular with prospective international students. Previously, LETI offered six English-taught masters programmes. Efficient Electric Power Industry is the new English-taught programme launched this year.
