Classes might be rescheduled due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Many prospective students are concerned over the mode of study in the new academic year. Classes at Russian universities usually begin on 1 September. Education authorities are still uncertain whether it will be distance or on-campus learning. It depends on the epidemiological situation in Russia and elsewhere, on whether the borders will be open for air and rail travel etc. If the situation improves, students will be able to come and study on campus. Otherwise, classes will be held online starting 1 September.

National University of Science and Technology MISIS is well equipped for online teaching which relies on the LMS Canvas platform presenting more than 80 percent of study materials. A learner needs a computer and access to the Internet; a corporate account is provided to every student and teacher. The university uses electronic grade report forms and student record books.

Of course, these measures are temporary. Teachers and students will return to classrooms once the situation takes a turn for the better.
