More than 2000 citizens from different countries study at South Ural State University. Apart from their studies, they are actively involved in creative activities and launch personal projects.

The new We are in Russia YouTube channel is among the most vivid. With the help of short videos, students from Cuba, Egypt, Morocco, Cameroon, Guinea, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and other countries share their impressions of Russia and talk about the peculiarities of studying during a pandemic. The project was created together with the SUSU Association of Foreign Students by Gulnara Khodzhieva, a Philology master student at the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication.

In September 2020, the channel was first presented at the Eurasia Global International Youth Forum, where it won a contest supported by A.M. Gorchakov public diplomacy support fund. It became the first project created by international students to receive a grant for further development. Thanks to this funding, the team was able to create even more engaging content at a professional level of production.
