This year the Russian nuclear production industry is celebrating 75 years. Several specialized universities with the support of the Rosatom Holding, State Atomic Energy Corporation are actively developing educational programmes for nuclear power engineers.

On August 20, 1945, the development of nuclear power in the USSR commenced. In 1954 the world's first nuclear power plant started operations in Obninsk. To honour the anniversary, Rosatom has prepared a celebration programme of open online events including lectures, interviews and conferences.

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI is one of the leading universities in training energy industry specialists. SUSU, together with the Russian Federal Nuclear Center, is developing two new master's programmes: Physical And Mathematical Modeling Of Fast Processes With Phase And Chemical Transformations, A Programme Complex For Modeling The Behavior Of Continuous Environments Under Dynamic Loads. The International Research Center for Advanced Nuclear Technologies, a project of FEFU and Rosatom, is also preparing new educational programmes for students and young scientists.
