27 Russian Universities Are in THE Rankings

The number of universities listed in global rankings is constantly growing.

Russian universities move forward rapidly in the international reputable rankings. The results of British THE Emerging Economies University Rankings 2018 prove it. This year, it includes 378 universities. In the list there are 27 Russian universities; last year, there were 24 institutions. Moscow State University traditionally has best result. It is placed on 3th position followed by technical universities which are Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (11th position), National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (19th position) and Tomsk Polytechnic University. It has risen by 35 positions to 21st place. The rest ones has improved their results either. For example, Higher School of Economics has risen by 16 position to 32th place, Tomsk State University has risen by 24 positions to 36th place and National University of Science and Technology MISIS has risen by 64 positions to 99th place. Top 100 includes also Novosibirsk State University (43th), Saint Petersburg State University (44th), ITMO University (57th), Kazan Federal University (60th).

THE Emerging Economies University Rankings 2018 comprises universities from 42 countries including China, India, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania etc. The analysis is based on such criteria as teaching and research quality, international cooperation and others.
