Passion for science helped him to win competitions and progress in studies.

The International Mathematical Olympiad among students took place in Israel. In all, 83 students from 8 countries participated in the competitions. A FEFU's student Vo Van Tien reached the final round and won the bronze medal. 

He got into Mathematics at secondary school and went on studying it at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Science. Then he got an invitation to pursue his studies at the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, Russia. Now, due to his outstanding performance in Math, Tien is studying at one of the best Russian universities and receiving a state scolarship.

Tien's devotion to chess helps him to progress in Math. He has already won the regional Chess competitions in Primorsky krai, and got a silver medal at the Blitz Chess Competitions.

Now the talented student is doing a Bachelor’s programme in Nuclear Physics and Technologies. So far he has got all but one excellent grades. After the end of his studies Vo Van plans to work as an engineer at a Vietnamese nuclear station.
