International graduates are taking leave of Russian universities.

Russian universities hold traditional graduation parties in July. There are many foreign nationals among graduates. For example, 335 foreigners completed undergraduate, specialist or graduate programmes at National Research Tomsk State University. They are mostly residents of Kazakhstan and China; some students came from Vietnam, Laos, Poland, Lithuania, Palestine and Iraq. TSU awarded degrees to Indian and Bulgarian students for the first time this year. Graduates specialised in physics, philology, information technology, agriculture etc. Some students completed double degree programmes such as Eurasian Integration (in partnership with Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University) and Physical Methods and Information Technologies in Biomedicine (in partnership with the Netherlands’ Maastricht University).

I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University has 287 foreigners from 37 countries among graduates this year. The bulk of international graduates come from Malaysia and Azerbaijan. Others come from China, Vietnam, Syria, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Tunisia, Jordan, Thailand, Ukraine, Moldova and other states. Many majored in Medical Care and Dentistry, Pharmacy and Pediatrics which are most popular with foreigners.

One hundred and forty-eight international students graduated from ITMO National Research University this year. All of them got degrees in engineering fields including information technology and programming, laser and light engineering, food biotechnology, control systems and robotics etc. Fourteen foreigners had taken double degree programmes implemented in collaboration with University of Rostock, Germany, University of Eastern Finland and Al Farabi Kazakh National University.

Eleven National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University students from China and Mongolia received diplomas in professional retraining in the programme An Interpreter/Translator in the Field of Professional Communication (Russian language), in addition to their main occupation. The programme is intended for foreign trainees taking a two and a half year course in advanced Russian, translation theory and practice.
