IKBFU Holds Night of Journeys 2018 Cross Culture Festival

The event gathered students from India, Iraq, Brazil, China, Germany and Peru.

Night of Journeys 2018 was the eight consecutive annual celebration of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University Day. It involved 2,000 guests including IKBFU international students who conducted master classes highlighting the culture of their countries. Guo Lindring, a student from China introduced guests to the Chinese tea ceremony. Namrata Patil and Aboli Lolage from India offered the art of mehndi (temporary skin decoration) for hand to anyone interested. Gabriel Noda from Brazil showed national martial art Capoeira moves. Institute of Medicine Indian students performed songs from contemporary Bollywood films. Students also participated in the best national dish contest. Hasan Ali from Iraq who cooked dolma was declared the winner.

The festival showcased the upcoming football championship, the Soviet Union’s culture and cinematography timeline. The “Third Floor” student theatre offered guests to join an experimental rehearsal of “It’s a Family Affair – We’ll Settle It Ourselves” by Russian playwright Alexander Ostrovsky.
