The students successfully defended projects in several areas.

Eighty-five Indian students have taken part in the Ural Federal University international summer school this year. For several weeks students attended lectures in engineering, had laboratory classes, studied Russian and worked on group projects in mechanics, power engineering, robotics, and civil engineering. The most promising ideas were selected in each category. For example, in the field of mechanics, the best project was dedicated to automatic solid waste recycling systems, and in civil engineering to the design of reinforced concrete structures. Indian students took part in a master class. They had to prepare a solution to practical problems within the allotted time with the assistance of UrFU tutors and representatives of large industrial and IT companies of the region. The problems were offered in such diverse fields as mechanics, civil engineering, power engineering, robotics etc. After completing the course the students received certificates.

A cultural and entertainment program was arranged for the participants of the summer school. They toured Yekaterinburg, saw the sights of Nevyansk, one of the oldest towns in the Urals, visited its 18th century Leaning Tower and learned how to make clay products and paint them.

Ural Federal University has held summer schools since 2014. Short programmes give international students the opportunity to get to know the university and its research potential, consider the prospects for further study in Russia and select an education program.
