The university is launching a new English medium specialist's degree programme.

MEPhI Institute of Engineering Physics for Biomedicine applications are open for the English-taught programme General Medicine. Length of study is six years; graduates earn a specialist’s degree with professional qualifications in general practice. An important part of the programme is a course in nuclear medicine which covers radio pharmacy, radiobiology, X-ray diagnostics, medical radiology, radiation therapy and state-of-the-art nuclear technology applied in medicine. Prospective doctors take obligatory internship at the A.F.Tsyba Medical Radiological Research Centre. Classes begin on 1 October 2018. To enrol in General Medicine, submit your documents to the Admissions Board, including your secondary education certificate, application, passport, medical certificate etc.The documents have to be translated into English. Applications are open for visa waiver countries residents till 25 August, for residents of the countries requiring a visa to enter Russia the appication closing date is 20 October. Training is provided in the town of Obninsk, Kaluga region, 100 kilometres from Moscow. The campus accommodates teaching blocks, dormitories, research labs, a library, a sport complex and a medical centre.

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI trains specialists in nuclear power engineering and allied fields. MEPhI is listed in prestigious education rankings. In 2017, it was in the 51-100 group in QS rankings for physics and astronomy and in 89th position in THE rankings for physical sciences.
