The event brought together 1,500 international students from 70 countries.

Ural Federal University held a three-day People’s Friendship cross culture festival showcasing various events that involved students from China, Venezuela, Vietnam, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tatarstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries. The first day was devoted to volleyball, basketball, football and table tennis competitions. Lectures on Russian language study and travel were presented on the second day. A display of national dishes was arranged on the final day of the festival.

Guests were treated to Chinese-style meat, Bashkotorstan and Tatarstan national dish echpochmak and the chak chak dessert, beshbarmak (boiled meat with noodles), peanut chicken over rice etc. In the closing show Chinese students performed the Confucius Book Dance, the Vietnamese danced “The Gorgeous Spring”, Kyrgyz students played a scene from “The legend of a Strongman,” the Georgian team performed the Rachuli national dance and a student from Azerbaijan sang “The Land of Fire.”
