Preparatory course at Tyumen university completed by a record number of foreign students

The academic year at the Preparatory department for foreign students is over. 178 students have finished the pre-university course in the Russian language.

This year, the studies have been done in the mixed format: 46 students attended the classes in person, 132 did it online. The employees of the Department were in contact with students fr om Colombia, Vietnam, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Sudan. The online-students got support from both their teachers and volunteering students, ‘buddies’. During the course, the students also chose the profile to study the subjects of the general academic course (economy, engineering and technics, natural sciences, or humanities).

The exciting and memorable prom, wh ere the certificates were also officially handed out, took place in the university’s White hall. It was organized by the staff of the Center for the recruitment and integration of foreign students, and by the teachers of the Preparatory department. The online students will have their own, online prom.

Most of the course leavers are going to stay at Tyumen university and continue their studies in the bachelor’s and master’s programs. The applicants are particularly excited about such specializations as ‘Mechatronics and Robotics’, ‘Information Systems and Technologies’, and ‘Applied Informatics’. Also traditionally popular are ‘Economics’, ‘Linguistics’, ‘International Relations’, and ‘Tourism’.
