Russian-speaking schoolchildren in 8th-11th grades from former Soviet republics and other countries are welcome.

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and Bauman Moscow State Technical University will hold the TechnoCup 2019 programming Olympiad. The academic competition comprises preliminaries and the finals. Schoolchildren can participate in either of two online preliminary rounds or in both; the best score is counted. The first round will take place at 16:00 on September 23, 2018, the second at 11:00 on October 14. Participants have two hours to solve the problems. The winners qualify for the finals to be held at the Techno Cup organiser universities in Moscow on March 3, 2019 and in other Russian cities. Those who wish to practice the solution of IT problems are offered two-day introductory rounds at 15:00 on September 21 and at 10:00 on October 12. The results of these rounds are not counted. Registration is obligatory for Olympiad participants.

Techno Cup finalists are entitled to various incentives depending on the university they choose. For example, the winners planning to enrol at MIPT get 100 points in the Unified State Exam in computer science. Also, Olympiad laureates get presents such as iPad air 2, iPod nano and iPod Shuffle.
