Prospective Armenian Students to Learn about Study in Russia

Russian universities representatives will visit Yerevan.

The Armenian capital will host the international Education XXI Century fair on 20-22 March 2019 targeting prospective students who want to study abroad. The participants are universities from different countries. Russia is represented by National Research Tomsk State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology etc. University staff will provide information on document requirements, application dates, admission rules, tuition fees and university departments and present education programmes. Applicants will find out about international students’ living conditions and recreation opportunities and get answers to their questions. The exhibition will take place at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture at Yerevan Proshyan St. 1st Lane, 20/14. Education in Russia is popular with Armenian nationals. Statistics show that in the academic year 2016/2017, Russian universities were providing training more than 2,000 Armenians; 60 percent of them were self-funded students. Armenian applicants pursue different levels of education, taking undergraduate to medicine residency programmes. The most popular fields are nuclear power engineering, information technologies, economics, law, linguistics and medicine. Affordable tuition fees and practical focus are among the advantages of studying in Russia. Moscow and Yerevan have an agreement under which Armenia recognises degrees from Russian universities, including medical degrees.
