SPbPU Masters Studies: Four New English Medium Programmes

The university welcomes international applicants interested in modern technology.

In 2019, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University launched four English-taught programmes. Two of them – Smart Nanostructures and Condensed Matter Physics and Laser Systems, Optics, Photonics, Infocommunication Technologies and Fibre Optic Systems – are for those who consider promising areas in physics and want to do research at a modern SPbPU laboratory. The first programme is focused on condensed matter physics, nanostructures and nanomaterials, basics of semiconductor technology and optoelectronic devices. The second programme targets students wishing to gain advanced knowledge of optics and photonics. The study plan includes optical communication systems, laser physics, modern computer technology and basics of technology of optoelectronic devices. SPbPU also offers the programme “Environmental Engineering in Urban Construction.” It provides civil engineering competences such as the ability to solve environmental problems and apply technologies for environmental protection. The fourth programme, “New Materials and Additive Technologies,” includes courses in advanced material science, additive manufacturing, solid state joining techniques and simulation of metals and alloys structure and properties formation. Length of study is two years. Candidates have to submit to the SPbPU Admissions Office a filled out application, a copy of passport and bachelor’s, specialist’s or master’s degree in a relevant area, and take a Skype interview with programme supervisor and a written exam in the principal subject.
