May 21, World Day for Cultural Diversity and holidays of different countries were held in educational centres around Russia. Students in colourful national costumes performed, held masterclasses and cultural exhibitions and presented famous dishes of their countries. Each holiday has become an excellent platform for cross-cultural communication and brought positive emotions to participants and guests.

Students of the most international RUDN University held the Planet South-West festival and introduced the guests to the culture and traditions of more than 50 countries. The event became a tradition that brings together students from RUDN and other Moscow universities and foreign guests alike. Applicants who plan to apply to different programmes were able to feel a friendly RUDN atmosphere. In 2021, the presentations of Peru, Afghanistan, Yemen, Colombia, Cuba, Lebanon, Chad, Sri Lanka were especially bright.

At the Lobachevsky University, was held Lobachevsky UniverSum – the Festival of Cultures. The stalls of Azerbaijan, Algeria, Vietnam, Honduras, Egypt, Spain, Yemen, China, Colombia, Lebanon, Morocco, Mexico, Serbia, Syria, Turkey, Ecuador and South Africa took the main university alley and presented their cultures, students performed national dances and generally had a good time. Lobachevsky University offers 372 basic educational programmes, additional training programmes and courses for studying Russian as a foreign language to students from anywhere in the world.

The Arzamas branch of Lobachevsky University hosted the “City of the Russian World: a Space for Creative Opportunities” festival. International students and applicants from South Africa, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan took part in costume, song and dance contests, culinary masterclasses, had the opportunity to better understand Russian culture and integrate into a modern Russian city.

On May 25, Tomsk Polytechnic University hosted Africa Day with students from 21 African countries. More than 80 programmes are available to international applicants, including those with the support of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. TPU developed a whole network collaborating with educational centres in Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania and Zambia to train qualified professionals in the nuclear industry. Pay closer attention to English-taught programmes in nuclear energy, materials science, Big Data, physics, etc.
