According to a study by Expert AC, the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University are among the top 3 in training specialists in the field of technologies.

The top 20 includes ITMO University, MEPhI, NUST MISIS, UrFU and NSU, TPU, SPbPU, FEFU, ETU LETI, TSU, Kazan Federal University, Samara University and Lobachevsky University. The ranking was organised based on a survey of more than 500 employing companies throughout Russia. The assessment took into account the level of education of specialists in four professional areas: information technology, chemical and biological sciences and technologies, energy, mechanical engineering / industry. The research was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the presidential platform “Russia is a country of opportunities”, the Presidential Grants Fund, as well as the UrFU and the Higher School of Economics under the “Career Time” project.
