First Students from Vietnam Received MEPhI Diplomas

Young people undergo training in “Design and operation of nuclear power plants”.

Twenty-eight Vietnamese students have received diplomas of nuclear scientists in 2017, five of them graduated with honors. All of the theses, written by students within a year, received positive feedback from the specialists and scientists of the Rosatom State corporation. In addition, students underwent practical training at the NPP.

Most of the graduates plans to return to Vietnam and start working in the energy field; a few people decided to stay in Moscow and continue studying in postgraduate programm. At the ceremony the First Vice-rector of MEPhI Oleg Nagornov expressed confidence that the guys would quickly find a decent job in both scientific and industrial organizations.

According to one of the graduates, Nguyen Chi, studying was both difficult and interesting; lecturers helped to cope with difficulties. He wished other foreign students, who are studying at MEPhI, diligently study the Russian language and be actively interested in all that concerns their future profession.

In parallel with the diplomas awarding, the University opened the Hall of international friendship. It has already had the first commemorative plaque with the inscription “from students from the Republic of Vietnam.”
