Higher School of Economics Opens Intake for English-Taught Master’s Programme in Sociology

The programme would be interesting to students planning their career in international studies.

HSE offers international students to pursue master’s degree in Comparative Social Research. The programme is open to prospective students who have already gained theoretical grounding in sociology and wish to take up international research. It is taught in English; tuition fee is 290,000 roubles a year. To enrol in the programme, students have to present a portfolio and pass an English test. Application deadline is 25 July.

First-year master’s students will study data analysis methods at HSE in Moscow. In the second year, students will start doing research and then take internships at domestic and foreign partner universities, for example in Tiburg University (the Netherlands) or Free University of Berlin (Germany).

HSE graduates have the competencies enabling them to start career at World Bank, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), UNESCO and UNICEF.
