HSE Day Held in Moscow

Higher School of Economics holds festivities in the Gorky Park every year.

Prospective and current students come here in early September to learn more about the university and have fun. The agenda this year was particularly extensive with nearly 20 lectures by HSE faculty, diverse master classes, intellectual contests and sports competitions. There were opportunities for skating, rollerblading, biking and dancing, as well as chess, yoga and fashion shows.

There were treats for guests at the Russian Teahouse where they could also test their knowledge of Russian customs. In the International Corner, students from Brazil, Italy, Mexico, China and Uzbekistan spoke about their national cultures, taught simple phrases in their language and served traditional dishes.

HSE students from 20 countries strode with their national banners in a parade entitled ‘The Whole World In One HSE’. A festive matriculation ceremony was held in the evening and followed by a concert in the Green Theater. The events in the Gorky Park were broadcast online throughout the day, so that those who couldn’t come would attend them virtually.
