More than 370 foreign nationals enrol at University of Tyumen

The university admitted applicants from 21 countries.

In 2019, 374 international students got into University of Tyumen. Of those, 293 applied for undergraduate programmes, 35 for specialist programmes and 46 for masters studies. The bulk of the first-years are residents of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Kazakhstan (189), Uzbekistan, (85), Tajikistan (24), Azerbaijan (6), Armenia (5), Kyrgyzstan (3) and Moldova (1). Many students came from Latin American countries: Colombia (14), Brazil (2) and El Salvador (1). UTMN also admitted 12 Chinese students who chose Economics. Among other origin countries are Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Yemen, Egypt, Serbia, Algeria, Morocco, Syria, Afghanistan and Mali.

The most popular bachelor’s studies fields were Biological Sciences, Ecology, Economics, Applied Mathematics, International Relations, Chemistry and Jurisprudence. Specialist students tended to choose Cybersecurity. Masters students chose Economics and Management and Ecology.

University of Tyumen trains specialists in 25 fields of study. Among the English medium programmes are Biology, Media Communications, Applied Informatics, Plant BIOSecurity etc. Those who wish to study in Russian but do not know it, can take a language course at the Preparatory Department. Foriegn national planning to enrol at UTMN in 2020 still have the opportunity to apply for an intensive course at the Preparatory Department. It will run from 1 December 2019 to 30 June 2020.
