Prospective students in these countries will learn about advantages of studying in Russia.

A study abroad fair will take place in Astana, Almaty and Bishkek on 16, 17 and 19 February, respectively. It will bring together universities, colleges and language schools from 35 countries. Russia will be represented by several universities including Siberian Federal University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic UniversitySouth Ural State University etc. University staff will present undergraduate and graduate fields of study, majors, admission rules for CIS citizens and document requirements, speak on living conditions in Russia and answer visitors’ questions. Exhibition venues, dates and opening hours: in Astana: Radisson Hotel, 4 Saryarka Avenue, 16 February, 12:00 to 16:00; in Almaty: The Ritz-Carlton, 77/7 Al-Farabi Avenue, 17 February, 12:00 to 16:00; in Bishkek, Park Hotel, 87 Orozbekov Street, 19 February, 15:00 to 19:00. Admission is free; preliminary registration is required.

Education in Russia has been increasingly popular in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Statistics show that a majority of international applicants come from Kazakhstan. The number of Kazakh nationals choosing Russia as their study abroad destination had increased by 18 percent over three years to reach nearly 40,000 in the academic year 2016/2017. The Kazakh student body at Russian universities increased by 44 percent in the designated period.
