National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University applications are open for the English-taught masters programme in physics. Foreign nationals with a bachelor’s degree in engineering fields are welcome. Students will acquire profound theoretical knowledge in physics and mathematics as well as broad experience in conducting experiments. The major is focused on condensed matter physics (structural properties of matter in condensed state) and includes the study of modern research equipment, physics experiment methods, computational physics, mathematical modelling, programming fundamentals and other disciplines. Among optional courses are innovations marketing, engineering entrepreneurship etc. Graduates can start careers in development and analysis of new materials for aerospace, defence industry, nuclear power engineering and medicine. One of the advantages offered by the programme is the opportunity to take an internship and do research at large Russian and foreign companies and universities, such as the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, Rosatom, Gazprom, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany and University of Southhampton in Britain. Length of study is two years; graduates get 120 ECTS credits. Tuition fee is 245,740 rubles ($3,883) a year.

Candidates have to email scanned copies of passport, secondary education certificate, bachelor’s degree diploma and English proficiency certificate (if available) to omrs@tpu.ru by 10 August 2018.
