The university offers international students Russian language, translation and history classes.

National Research Tomsk State University, located in the city of Tomsk, will hold three international summer schools in August - early September. Russian language learners with proficiency level at A2 - B1 are invited to an intensive language course from 19 August to 6 September. Students will study grammar, improve their writing, pronunciation and listening comprehension skills and learn basic stylistics. Participation fee: 51,000 rubles/$775 (includes training, inbound/outbound airport transfer, cultural programmes, study materials, coffee breaks and accommodation). Cross Cultural Communication in Interpreting and Translating is a course focused on oral and written translation in the Russian-English and English-Russian language pairs. Classes will run from 12 to 29 August. Participation fee: 35,000 rubles/$535 (includes training, study materials, accommodation, coffee breaks). The Heritage of Eurasia: Past, Present and Future is for students who want to study Russian history and culture. The programme includes lectures in Siberian history and master classes in drawing, singing and decorative and applied arts. Period of study: 12 August - 23 August. Participation fee: 41,000 rubles/$625 (covers training, inbound/outbound airport transfer, cultural programme, study materials, coffee breaks, accommodation).

Countryside recreation and a cultural and entertainment programme are offered to summer school participants. Students will have a sightseeing tour of Tomsk, learn about local history and architecture and visit museums, the puppet theatre, the Siberian Botanical Garden and classical and folk music shows.
