Last week, the Russian national team won a prestigious international physics competition – the International Physics Tournament (IPT). MIPT students left behind rivals from 10 other countries, including the teams from Ukraine and the USA in second and third places, respectively.

IPT is held since 2009. This year teams were presented with 17 physics problems of a top-level difficulty a few months before the tournament. These problems have multiple answers and the contestants have to come up with the most elegant solution. The judges pay close attention to the description quality, the depth of the research and experimental work done.

MIPT professors, who trained the team for more than a year, noted that the students did a tremendous job balancing the training with study work made especially tricky during the quarantine. The tournament itself took place online, although it was supposed to be in Warsaw. Despite all the challenges, the crew confidently overcame the rivals and took the gold they deserved.

The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology is one of the leading Russian universities in training highly qualified world-class specialists only fundamental and applied physics. You will be able to participate in progressive research and make your first discoveries while studying. Choose the program that suits you best and send your application to the university now!
