The Conference on International Exchange of Professionals is one of China's most anticipated science and technology events and attracts scientist from over 40 countries. In 2020, the Russian Federation presented at the conference as an Honoured guest.

This time the exhibition was held online, which allowed universities from all over Russia to connect and present their latest scientific achievements and educational programs.

Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University offered the international audience two ambitious projects from different areas during the Russian Week Science and Technology. The first was "Excimer lamp equipped with a UV dose control system" was carried out by the University's Optical Radiation Laboratory. This study has the potential to be the next step in the safer treatment of skin diseases with an autoimmune component compared to medical methods.

The Center for Neurotechnology and Machine Learning of the IKBFU presented another project "Software for determining the psycho-emotional state of a person". The main goals were to solve the problem of classifying human emotions based on the EEG data analysis through creating and training artificial intelligence and compare its' effectiveness to other algorithms.

The new interdisciplinary English language master's "Functional nanomaterials and modern technologies" developed in cooperation with the Gdansk University of Technology (Poland) had a time in the spotlight as well. Graduates will be able to receive double degrees from these universities and become international experts in industrial, economic and scientific aspects of the most promising areas of production, optics and photonics, as well as biomedicine. The lecturers include specialists from Russia and Poland, as well as from the USA, Germany, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, and the Czech Republic. Students will be able to participate in internship programmes in leading Russian and European research centres.

As part of the event, SPbPU with the Xi'an Polytechnic University, the PuE Business Incubator and the Fengdong New District Office of Xi'an has signed an acceleration program agreement. In the future, this program should contribute to the intensive development of scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.

Tomsk Polytechnic University also presented at the exhibition. Polytechnic University has already established cooperation with China's leading universities running two joint laboratories and double degree programs and academic exchanges.

The Russian Science and Technology Week was supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shenzhen. Russian presentations gathered attention from all the participants and among the Chinese colleagues especially. IKBFU representatives noted that the high level of organization and friendly disposition let the 2020 Conference become a success despite the online format.
