Applications to study in Russian universities can be made

On September 1, registration was opened for foreign citizens and stateless persons, including compatriots living abroad, to participate in the selection for studying in Russian universities in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Studies will be financed by the federal budget. The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2021. More information on the registration is available at

The selection of foreign applicants has two stages. The first stage is performed by foreign representative offices of “Rossotrudnichestvo”*, by Russian embassies and foreign missions. The second stage is carried out by universities in Russia.

Pay attention to the fact that a foreign applicant must contact the embassy or another representative structure of Russia on the territory of the country of his/her citizenship, regardless of his/her current location.

Stateless persons and compatriots permanently residing abroad should apply to the embassy or other representative structures on the territory of the country of their permanent residence.

You can find the contacts of all “Rossotrudnichestvo” offices on its website. If in your country there is no office of “Rossotrudnichestvo”, the selection functions will be performed by the diplomatic mission, including the embassy of the Russian Federation. The contacts of Russian embassies can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

For the results of the selection, you should contact the foreign missions of Russia.

*“Rossotrudnichestvo” is the leading Russian agency that actively promotes Russian education and achievements of Russian scientists and cooperates with educational organizations in other countries. Each year, “Russian Houses” participate in the selection of foreign applicants to Russian universities and work with the universities’ alumni, whose number in the world is today above 500 thousand.
