Eight Russian Universities Among the Best for Humanities

Britain’s Times Higher Education published the annual rankings by four subject areas.

THE experts assessed universities across the world for Business and Economics, Education, Law and Social Sciences. Russian universities are represented in all the four areas; two of them got into the top 100. Higher School of Economics at 94th place topped the Russian table for Business and Economics. It was followed by Lomonosov Moscow State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Kazan Federal University, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Saint Petersburg State University and Ural Federal University.

Kazan Federal University was ranked 94th for Education; it leads Lomonosov Moscow State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, National Research Tomsk State University and Ural Federal University. Seven Russian universities were among the best for Social Sciences: Higher School of Economics, Kazan Federal University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, National Research Tomsk State University and Ural Federal University. Higher School of Economics represented Russia for Law.

THE Rankings by Subject relied on such performance indicators as teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
