The university held a graduation party for Preparatory Department trainees.

Pre-university training certificates were awarded to 96 Samara University students from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Iraq, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Chad, Sudan, Bangladesh, Serbia and other countries. They took a year-long programme in Russian and general disciplines required for further studies, and successfully passed the state language examination. A majority of the trainees plan to enrol in Samara University basic Russian medium programmes at undergraduate/specialist, graduate and postgraduate levels.

Many are interested in engineering professions. Aviation engineering, rocket complexes and cosmonautics, metallurgy, design of aircraft engines, electronics technology and radio engineering are among the selected majors. Some students preferred humanities tracks such as social science, management, international relations and law. A number of students are willing to take programmes in natural sciences (biology). Several Preparatory Department graduates, despite the progress made in learning Russian, decided to enrol in English-medium programmes.

Samara University is an engineering higher education centre well-known for its aerospace and aviation school. Currently it provides education to students from 70 countries. They enjoy such opportunities as internships at foreign partner universities, practice at large companies and double degree programmes.
