Instruction is provided in English at Higher School of Economics Nizhny Novgorod.

The new double degree masters programme in Mathematics was designed by Higher School of Economics in partnership with Germany’s University of Passau. Graduates receive two degrees: Master in Computational Mathematic from both universities. BSc mathematics or natural sciences holders from any country are welcome to apply. Length of study is two years. Students will focus on discrete mathematics, the probability theory, the function theory, the dynamic systems theory etc. Optional subjects such as economics taught at other HSE faculties in Nizhny Novogorod can be added to the compulsory courses. Students will work on research projects and defend their thesis at the end of studies. Graduates apply their knowledge in economics, information technology, insurance and research. They also have an opportunity to pursue a postgraduate degree in mathematics at a Russian or international university.

Prospective students have to pass an interview in English and take part in an English-medium portfolio contest. Forward your questions concerning application dates, document requirements and tuition fee to university staff. Sign into the website to write to the university directly. It is free and won’t take much time. University representatives will reply to you within ten workdays.
