Graduates will get a degree from Russian and British universities.

Kazan Federal University opened applications for a new double degree masters programme in Petroleum Engineering. The programme aims to train high-skilled specialists in the oil and gas field development. It provides such competences as determining the best location of oil wells, production monitoring and analysis, development planning, production costs optimisation etc. First year training runs at KFU and second year training at Imperial College London. The programme is implemented with the support of Russia’s Rosneft and Britain’s British Petroleum corporations which will cover the cost of training and staying in Kazan and London, arrange internships, provide UK visas and insurance and book flights. Students are entitled to a monthly grant of 30,000 rubles ($460) in Kazan and £1,300 ($1,620) in London. A vacancy will be reserved for every graduate at one of the two companies.

To be admitted to the programme, candidates have to pass competitive selection which consists of online and onsite stages. Following are the documents to be submitted to both partner universities: a copy of university degree in petroleum engineering, mining, mathematic or natural sciences, physics, earth sciences, applied geology (grade point average 4.5 or higher), passport and English language proficiency certificate. The following certificates are recognised: IELTS (overall score: 6.5; minimum score per each part of the test: or TOEFL (overall score: 92; minimum score per each section: 20). A cover letter has to be attached as well. Application deadline: 20 July 2019. Documents can be submitted at the KFU and Imperial College London websites. Successful candidates will be invited to the second round which will take place at KFU. It includes a test in the field-specific discipline, mathematics and natural sciences and an interview. The results will be announced on 8 August.
