National Research Tomsk State University Launches Biophotonics Master’s Programme in English

International prospective students can take online entrance examinations.

Tomsk State University announced intake for masters in biophotonics, one of the most popular disciplines of modern science. The programme starts in September 2017. Language of instruction is English. 

Biophotonics is an interdisciplinary Master’s degree programme focused on optics and biomedicine research. Students will study photons-tissue interactions to gain insight into life processes at the molecular and cellular levels. The programme was designed with the assistance of scientists from the University of Oulu, Finland. 

Application opens on 20 June 2017. Closing date is 5 August. Prospective students from foreign countries can submit an online application on TSU website now, and then send the copies of their documents to the university’s International Service. Tuition fee is 276,000 roubles ($4,840) a year. TSU plans to set the intake number at 25 in this Master’s programme. 

To enroll in the programme, prospective students have to take a test in physics and pass an interview in English. Foreigners can take online entrance examinations.
