International students successfully completed their training at universities.

In July, universities across Russia hold graduation parties and degree ceremonies. Foreign nationals who have been awarded bachelor’s, specialist or masters degrees make up a sizable portion of graduates. Some of them finished foundation programmes, received a certificate and made plans to continue their education in Russia in 2019/2020. At Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI”, 66 students from 34 countries including Vietnam, Syria, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt etc completed pre-university training in humanities, economics and engineering. Fifty of them plan to apply for LETI degree programmes. At the same time, the university held a graduation party for masters students. Master’s degrees were conferred upon 698 people including 91 foreigners from 20 states.

Higher School of Economics, Nizhny Novgorod campus, ran a certificate ceremony for Chinese, Algerian and Iraqi nationals who had taken a one-year course in Russian. The course included theory and intensive speaking practice, city tours, festivals, conferences and contests to create all-Russian environment for the students.

Ural Federal University awarded bachelor’s or master’s degrees to more than 400 international graduates; the most popular fields of study were philology, linguistics and civil engineering. South Ural State University produced more than 300 graduates from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Iraq, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkemenistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Venezuela, Jordan etc. Bachelor’s degrees were awarded to 183 people, master’s degrees to 145 and specialist degrees to 11. SUSU academic units that turned out graduates 2019 included Institute of Architecture and Construction, School of Medical Biology, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, School of Economics and Management, Institute of Linguistics and International Communications, Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Technologies, Institute of Law and Department of Journalism.

National University of Science and Technology MISIS students had a merry graduation as part of the MISIS academic community festival in the Gorky Park bringing together more than 4,000 people. MISIS alumni and graduates 2019 were among the guests. This year, the university awarded degrees to 212 foreigners from 25 countries such as Azerbaijan, Vietnam, China, India, Spain, France, Italy, Serbia, Lithuania, Yemen, Congo, Namibia, Uganda, Kenya etc. Most of them majored in Information Technology and Computers, Nanotechnologies and Microsystems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Metallurgy and Physical Processes of Mining or Oil and Gas Production. Some foreign nationals completed degree programmes in linguistics, management or economics.

I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University trained over 3,600 specialists; of those, 687 graduated with honours and 100 received medals for achievements in research and active engagement in university life. Among the graduates are some 300 foreign nationals from 36 countries such as Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Syria, Vietnam, Mongolia, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Ghana, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel, Greece, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Latvia, Belgium, Georgia, Bahrein, Iraq, Lebanon and Namibia. Students were awarded degrees in General Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Pediatrics and other programmes, took the Hippocratic oath and wished success to applicants.
