National Research Nuclear University MEPhI has improved its result by almost 60 positions.

Every year, the British Times Higher Education (THE) magazine dedicated to the issues of education presents its own world ranking of higher education institutions. In 2015, 100 universities are in the subject ranking of physical sciences, 3 of them represent Russia. National Research Nuclear University MEPhI took 36th position – it is almost 60 positions higher than in the previous years. Moreover, the Moscow university has managed to beat strong competitors from China.

According to the rector of MEPhI, Mikhail Strikhanov, the rapid advancement of the university to the top of THE ranking in physical sciences is primarily due to the constant improvement of the quality of education for students and the growing number of international students, as well as with an increase in the requirements for the level of education and the work of teachers. “It is good that these changes are reflected in the leading international rankings,” the rector has concluded.

Besides National Research Nuclear University MEPhI , the Moscow State University n.a. M.V. Lomonosov (59th place) and Novosibirsk State University (86th place) are in THE ranking.
