St. Petersburg University invites foreign applicants to learn Russian and prepare for university programmes

Applications to the supplementary educational programme «The Preparatory Course (for foreign citizens)» are accepted at St. Petersburg University.

St. Petersburg University helps foreign citizens better prepare for bachelor’s, specialist’s, master’s and doctoral university programmes. The first semester is totally dedicated to learning Russian as a foreign language. In their second semester, students choose the specialization and begin studying their major subjects. Applicants can choose between the five options: natural sciences, technical engineering, humanities, economics, or medicine and biology.

At the end of the course, students take an assessment in the subjects of their specialization, and the test in Russian as a foreign language (TORFL — 1). Students who successfully complete the course receive the official certificate from St. Petersburg University.

The applicant and the university shall sign a contract for paid educational services. Foreign citizens may choose one of the educational formats:

offline studying (the application deadline is 25 August, 2021), or

studying with the use of distance learning technologies (the documents must be submitted before 20 August, 2021).

For distance learners, classes will be organized online, and all learning materials will be available electronically. The final test in Russian will also be held using distance technologies.
