Preparatory department for Bachelor's programmes
UrFU offers various preparatory programmes for international applicants. Among them are intensive courses in Russian as a foreign language and a series of educational courses for those planning to enrol in the main programmes of the university.
In one semester, students with zero knowledge of the Russian language will obtain basic skills in oral communication and correspondence, and learn to read and understand simple texts. If desired, students can complete the one-year programme in one term, pass the final level of Russian language test for foreigners and receive a certificate.
The one-year preparatory course is designed for students planning further education at UrFU in the Russian language. It includes lessons in grammar, oral speech, reading, listening and phonetics, as well as Russian history, culture, literature and mass media. Upon completion of the programme, students take a university or international language certificate exam (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language).
