NUST MISIS and Yanshan University will cooperate in the field of education and research
The National Research Technological University MISIS (NUST MISIS, Moscow) and Yanshan University (Qinhuangdao, China) have signed a memorandum of understanding to subsequently implement joint educational projects and scientific internship programs.
The universities will educate personnel and organize scientific internships in such areas as materials science, metallurgy, quantum technologies, and IT. Cooperation between NUST MISIS and Yanshan University will include the development of student, academic and scientific staff exchange programs, as well as joint research and new educational programs.
At the signing ceremony, Chen Guoqiang, Vice-Rector of Yanshan University, outlined the immediate plans for cooperation:
“China and Russia are long-standing strategic partners, and cooperation between our countries is still relevant. NUST MISIS and Yanshan University have a lot in common: both universities have a rich history and a strong school in the priority areas of mining, metallurgy, and materials science. Yanshan University plans to establish a cooperation platform that will make the basis for implementing joint research projects and academic mobility programs at various levels of training” – he said.
Today, 22 students from China are studying at NUST MISIS. 4 of them are in English-language master's programs: Advanced Materials Science, Nanotechnology and Materials for Micro- and Nanosystems, Science and Materials of Solar Energy, and Communications and International Public Relations. In addition, Chinese students are doing internships at the Department of Metallurgy of Non-Ferrous Metals and the Department of Mining Safety and Ecology.
NUST MISIS actively cooperates with Chinese colleagues in the field of education and science. So far, it has signed more than 10 cooperation agreements with Chinese universities, including Harbin Polytechnic University, China Mining University, and Beijing University of Science and Technology.
