SUSU Double Degree Programmes South Ural State University is located in Chelyabinsk. It provides training for careers in engineering and humanities with more than 150 programmes available to foreign nationals. Some programmes offer the opportunity to study abroad at partner universities.

South Ural State University offers double degree programmes with universities of the United States, China, Finland and Kazakhstan. There are two joint master’s programmes in management with Clark University, USA: “Information Technology Management” and “Marketing Communications.” Advantages of the programmes: intensive English language course, evening classes that can help students combine study and work, internship opportunities at well-known U.S. companies, and a chance for graduates to stay in the United States for one to three years to gain experience in one’s profession.

Joint programmes with Chinese universities have specifics of their own, for example the programme “Automation of Technological Process in Oil and Gas Industry” with China University of Petroleum (Beijing) is available to students of both universities. A joint programme with North China Electric Power University in such fields as Heat Engineering and Thermal Power Engineering and Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering provides the opportunity to Chinese university students to earn a double degree. For SUSU students it is an academic mobility programme, i.e. they can go to the partner university for a semester and get the Chinese government or Beijing municipality grant while studying there. The same terms apply for the joint programme in management with Zhejiang Ocean University (Zhoushan).

SUSU has three joint master’s degree programmes with Al Farabi Kazakh National University: “Technosphere Safety,” “Thermal Power Engineering and Heat Engineering” and “Ecology and Natural Resource Utilisation.” Two grants from the Russian and Kazakh universities are available.

SUSU also has a joint master’s degree programme “Fundamental Informatics and Information Technology” with Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland. Students can aspire to a SUSU grant and a LUT grant, and have an opportunity to enrol in LUT PhD programme after getting their master’s degree.

To be admitted to the programme, students have to show good academic performance, speak fluent English and have an international certificate confirming their knowledge. They can also participate in a LUT grant contest. Funding options: full payment in Finland (10,000 euros + rent + meals (560 euros), 100 percent and 50 percent payment.
