The Master Program in the field of political communication studies plays an important role in training personnel for the governing authorities, political parties, media, PR services, and universities in accordance with the requirements of public order and long-term demand for experts in the field of political science in these specialties. Among the partners of the program there are federal and regional authorities, local government structures, leading universities of Russia, Britain, France, Germany, Poland, news agencies, print and electronic media, PR services and consulting companies. The program is linked to the Bachelor’s and Specialist’s Programs in the following fields: political science, international relations, history, regional studies, journalism, psychology.

Graduates are able to:

  • analyze situations in a rapidly changing world;
  • know modern communication channels and can apply their knowledge and skills in the social and political spheres;
  • possess knowledge of modern politics;
  • be enrolled in postgraduate studies in political science and regional studies, there is a Postgraduate School in Political culture and ideologies.

The areas of professional activities are politics, state administration, journalism.

Pedagogical practical work includes teaching in higher educational institutions, intensive industry internship includes working for industrial entities, mass media, science-based TSU Institute of Political Studies. Research work is focused on writing articles, presentations at conferences, applications for grants and scholarships. The final state attestation includes defending a Master's thesis. A significant number of the graduates are given priority for admission to postgraduate school at the department and partner universities.

Admission

Admission to the program is carried out on a competitive basis following the results of admission tests: an entrance examination and an interview.
