The first of its kind in Russia, this programme trains future policy leaders in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Students learn how to articulate issues of public concern, analyze policies, influence public decision-making, and evaluate the effects of policy choices.
A special concentration, Human Rights and Democratic Governance, is also offered. This focus provides students with deep theoretical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and practical experience (through internships) in human rights research, monitoring, advocacy, and litigation. A double-degree track with University of Bologna is also offered.
The programme works with a large number of Russian and international think tanks and non-government organizations. Experts from these institutions give guest lectures and are approachable to students, providing a starting professional network for students that could be invaluable in the early stages of their careers.
Graduates go on to successful careers working for government agencies, political parties, non-profit organizations, think tanks, and private sector corporations.
Part-time study: Most lectures and other academic activities begin later in the day (usually in the evening), so it is possible to combine study with a part-time job, especially during the second year of study.
